So, I need a new post...
and what better to post about than our house :)
We spent about three nights this week working on the deck. It only had the four by fours and railing on the top. So we put the lattice work up and put supports about every 2.5 feet. Now our deck is safe for everyone :)

Also, we have a pecan tree(that's it in the pic above), and I started picking up the pecans. My friend Stacey has a pecan picker and was telling me all about how great they are and then she got me one as a house warming gift!!! How awesome is that! It works great! I just had to try it out that day after work.
See...now I don't have to bend over to pick up the pecans!!
Thanks Stacey!!
Oh....and PS HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! We celebrated with a lovely chili dinner with family! And Lloyd! Excellent as always! Great food and great company!

That deck looks beautiful! And I've never seen a pecan picker before--very handy. :)
Thanks for posting. You will stay for now.
Hope you had a Happy Halloween!!! E would love the pecan picker (I never knew they existed). They have pecan trees at her school, and I am constantly finding them in her pockets.
I hope you're going to use all those pecans! Maybe you'll make a pecan pie for Thanksgiving!! I'm glad everything is coming along well, and before you know it -- you'll be homeowners -- Wow!
Buying your first house is so exciting. I'm glad your inspection passed without a hitch.
That pecan picker will come in handy. We have two pecan trees and we always let a former neighbor pick up our pecans. (no sense in them going to waste)
